Despite my friend's persistent encouragement over the years to attend business events, I continuously postponed because I did not feel ready. Since establishing my business Sophieamornatural in 2020. The initial hesitation I felt towards attending these events stemmed from a lack of confidence in my abilities and a fear of stepping out of my comfort zone. However, I realised the importance of networking and learning from others in the industry. I began to see business events not as intimidating gatherings, but as valuable opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals, gain insights from and expand my knowledge base. Attending my first business event was a chance to showcase my brand, share my story, and receive feedback from experts in the field.
I eventually decided it was time, and by chance, I discovered a business event named The Woman's Circle on a Facebook page and decided to register. The event resonated with me, and the opportunity to explore a new area sealed the deal for me. The fear of being unprepared kept me from making those important connections and learning from others. But then, after some time, it was time to give it a go.
Business Event Experience
Running late, I hurried into the small church hall, feeling a mix of nervousness and anticipation. To my relief, the host and the other small business owners already there greeted me warmly. The hall was vibrant with activity, showcasing a wide variety of products - from luxurious natural body butter creams to delicious cakes, alluring fragrances, stylish clothes, and soothing Aloe Vera items. Each display table was a unique work of art, with special decorations that added a lively and festive atmosphere. The host, was kind reassuring me that she had no issues with my lateness. Her understanding immediately put me at ease. The networking sessions games began with the business vendors introducing ourselves and engaging in brief conversations setting up my own table at last was surprisingly quick, taking only about 15 minutes. The efficiency of the setup process allowed me to appreciate the overall result of the event.
